Chemicals applied to groundCarter's Blueberry Patch

  • Rely - is a type of roundup that kills weeds instantly - during winter and spring
  • Simazine - weed killer mixed with Rely is a fertilizer used to make weeds absorb weed killers faster
  • Ams - weed killer mixed with Rely and Simazine as a herbicide
  • Surflan - weed killer mixed with all of the above -every 3 months
  • Roundup - used to kill certain weeds - spring and winter
  • Rainbow – fertilizer applied to bottom of bushes to help them grow- spring and fall

Chemicals applied to bushes (applied with an air blaster)

  • Diazon AG 500 - used to kill and prevent blueberry maggots, mummy berries, and thrifts - after pick season
  • Captivate - used to prevent mummy berries - after pick season
  • Flood - used to make bushes absorb chemicals - used only with other chemicals
  • Pristine - used to prevent fungus’s and certain diseases - winter and spring
  • Pro Gibb - used to help prevent freeze damage on berries - spring
  • Malathian - used to kill fruit flies - spring
